The History of Sparx
Founded in 1995, Sparx became known for high quality visual effects, quickly building a portfolio of over 1,000 TV commercials that have aired on five continents. Sparx is most well-known for co-producing Rolie Polie Olie with Nelvana and Disney Channel and producing the fully computer-animated movie Igor.
With the release of Igor, Sparx became the only studio in Vietnam to have released a Hollywood 3D feature film. Igor involved a team of 250 artists who created 1437 shots using 70 environments and 125 characters.
Sparx was acquired by Virtuos in 2011. Virtuos is one of the world’s largest digital entertainment production companies with expertise in both movies and games. Today Sparx is the movie division of Virtuos, with production resources in Saigon, Shanghai and Chengdu development centers, and offices in Paris, Vancouver and Tokyo.
