Grand Odyssey

The "Space Children," the children of a human race that no longer knows anything of the Earth, use their ancestors long-forgotten spaceship to set out on a voyage to find their former home world.

Sparx* created this experimental film which used the Futurecast System prototype to scan the audience’ faces and instantaneously convert them into computer graphics. Then every audience member’s face is ‘attached’ to a character, so that they actually appears in the movie.

Grand Odyssey was the centerpiece of the Mitsui-Toshiba Pavilion at the 2005 World Expo in Aichi, Japan.
